Upholding a Legacy of Integrity and Precision at Perea Surveying and Mapping

Perea Surveying and Mapping is founded on a legacy of integrity, precision, and dedication to the land surveying profession. Our story begins with Jose "Joe" Perea III, PLS, a highly respected surveyor who devoted more than 30 years of his life to the surveying industry. Known for his strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to accuracy, Joe built a reputation for excellence that left a lasting impact on both his clients and colleagues. His passion for surveying was more than a career—it was a calling.

Growing up, Jose “Joey” Perea IV had a front-row seat to this dedication. From an early age, Joey watched his father approach every project with care, discipline, and pride. Those experiences instilled in him not only a deep respect for the profession, but also the values of hard work, honesty, and service that continue to guide him today.

In honor of his father’s legacy, Joey founded Perea Surveying and Mapping. Launching this company is both a professional milestone and a tribute. We are proud to carry forward a family legacy built on experience, trust, and respect for the land—and for the people we serve.
Services
ALTA/NSPS Surveys
An ALTA/NSPS survey is a boundary survey that has been conducted to meet the standards set by the American Land Title Association. These standards include items such as the precision that should be met while conducting the survey, what the surveyor should locate while conducting the survey, and a list of items that surveyor should review and include prior to signing and turning in the survey.
Boundary Surveys
Boundary Surveys accurately define property lines with our boundary surveys. Client’s that request a boundary survey are typically purchasing a piece of property or refinancing a piece of property.
Specific Purpose Surveys
A Specific Purpose Survey is requested when the client does not need the boundary of the property to be located, but instead needs certain improvements located and measurements taken. An example, would be when a clubhouse inside a gated community is experiencing flooding and the clubhouse and surrounding area needs to be measured and mapped without having to locate the property line.
FEMA Elevation Certificates
Topographic Surveys
A topographic survey typically builds off a boundary survey. To perform a topographic survey, the surveyor will be measuring grade elevations on a grid on the ground to measure the topography of the land. A topographic survey is typically requested when a client wants to do construction on the property or there are some drainage issues occurring on the property.
Construction Surveys
Construction Surveys Facilitate smooth construction processes with our construction surveys. Ensure accurate positioning and alignment for successful project execution.
As-Built Surveys
An As-Built survey is requested at the end of a construction project, most likely to close out a permitting process. For example, when a house is built, the client requests an As-Built of the newly constructed house. Another example would be providing an As-Built survey to the county for a newly constructed sewer lateral.
A client will need an elevation certificate when purchasing a property that is in a flood zone. The elevation certificate will be used to obtain flood insurance. A client may also need an elevation certificate if they install new machinery servicing the main structure on the property like a generator servicing a house.
